Teaching

Communication has never seemed easier, with multitudes of devices and media and platforms at our fingertips. With this is the intense realization that we need new skills to produce, to filter, to curate, and to interpret information. Education evolves and this seems to be a moment of intense debate around the nature of formal learning and the value of the classroom.  The role of new media and emergent participatory culture figures centrally in these debates.

As I negotiate all these debates, I focus on understanding what my students really need to know and to facilitate relevant social and cultural literacy for them. How can I design my content, my classroom and my assessments to best prepare my students for their future?
